Uganda Exim participates in Uganda–Serbia trade cooperation mission

On Friday, October 25, 2024, Uganda Exim Limited was represented by Board Chairman Dr. Peter Ngategize and Chief Operations Officer Mr. Allan Agaba during a high-level trade mission to the Republic of Serbia. The delegation, led by Hon. General Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, Minister of State for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, participated in the Uganda–Serbia Joint Commission for Trade Cooperation session held in the City of Nis. The engagement reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to expanding bilateral trade and investment partnerships with Serbia.

The trade mission aimed to reactivate the historic trade agreement originally signed in 1963 between Uganda and the former Yugoslavia. It also advanced the implementation of recent bilateral commitments made during the July 2023 presidential meeting between H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Serbian President H.E. Aleksander Vucic.

Key among these agreements is the Bilateral Air Services Agreement, which is expected to open up new channels for trade, tourism, and logistics between the two countries.
Uganda Exim Limited’s participation in this mission reflects its strategic role in promoting and facilitating Uganda’s export growth. By engaging in such high-level diplomatic and trade platforms, the institution continues to champion affordable export financing and support for Ugandan businesses seeking new international markets, particularly in Eastern Europe.
