Uganda Exim limited supports flag-off of first roasted coffee export to Serbia

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Uganda marked a milestone in its value addition and export diversification journey with the flag-off of the first large-scale shipment of roasted, ready-to-drink coffee to the Republic of Serbia. The event, held at the Uganda Coffee Marketing Board premises in Bugolobi, signaled a bold step in promoting processed Ugandan coffee to international markets and underscored the country’s growing capacity to export value-added products. Uganda Exim Limited played a central role in this achievement, reflecting its ongoing commitment to empowering exporters.

The ceremony brought together a broad coalition of stakeholders from government, private sector, and international partners, including the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Uganda Revenue Authority, Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotion Authority, and Uganda Exim Limited. Dr. Peter Ngategize, Chairman of the Board at Uganda Exim, delivered remarks reaffirming the institution’s mission to provide affordable financing solutions that enable exporters to scale up and access new markets.

The shipment to Serbia includes four premium coffee blends—Crane Blend (13,000 kg, 100% Robusta), Lion Blend (1,000 kg, 80% Robusta + 20% Arabica), and Gorilla Blend (1,000 kg, 70% Arabica + 30% Robusta), totaling 15,000 kg with a sales value of $16.50 per kilogram. Uganda Exim Limited remains committed to supporting exporters with tailored financial products that promote industrialization and enhance the global competitiveness of Ugandan products
