Joseph Lutwaama is a seasoned banking executive with over 38 years of experience in Uganda’s financial services sector. He has held senior leadership roles at both Stanbic Bank and Centenary Bank, with a strong track record in credit risk management, strategic growth, and institutional transformation.
At Centenary Bank, he served as General Manager Credit for over 16 years, playing a pivotal role in the Bank’s transition from a microfinance institution to one of Uganda’s top commercial banks. Prior to that, he spent 22 years at Stanbic Bank, rising through various credit and corporate banking roles, including EXCO-level responsibilities.
He has served on numerous internal and industry committees, including the Uganda Bankers Association Credit Committee, and holds professional qualifications from Makerere University and the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK).
Known for his strategic insight, analytical acumen, and deep knowledge of credit and risk, Joseph Lutwaama brings valuable governance and financial oversight expertise to the board.
